On-device tools (most of them)
Every image tool and most PDF tools — converting, compressing, resizing, merging, splitting, organizing, rendering — run inside your browser using JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by any server. They simply never leave your computer.
The three server-side tools
PDF↔Word, Compress PDF, and OCR can’t run in a browser — they need conversion engines that only exist server-side. For these, your file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed in an isolated temporary folder, and deleted the moment the result is returned. Nothing is retained. Each of these tools shows a clear notice before you use it.
Tracking
Free File Forge ships with no advertising and no third-party tracking by default. If privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics are enabled by the operator, they record only anonymous page views — never your files or their contents.
