How to Split a PDF or Extract Specific Pages

June 29, 2026 · 4 min read

You rarely need to send someone an entire 50-page PDF when only pages 3–5 matter. Splitting lets you pull exactly the pages you want into a fresh document — quickly, and without uploading the original anywhere.

When you’d split a PDF

To share a single chapter or section, to remove confidential pages before sending a file, or to break one big scan into smaller, manageable parts.

How to split a PDF

  1. 1Open the Split / extract tool.
  2. 2Load your PDF.
  3. 3Choose the page or range you want (for example, 3–5).
  4. 4Download a new PDF containing just those pages.

Extract vs. delete

Splitting keeps the pages you choose. If instead you want to remove a page and keep everything else, the Organize pages tool lets you delete pages visually and save the remainder.

Frequently asked questions

Can I extract non-consecutive pages?
You can pull a continuous range easily; for scattered pages, extract each range, or use Organize pages to delete the ones you don’t want.
Does the original file change?
No — you download a brand-new file, and your original stays untouched.
Is it private?
Yes — everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
